EMPLOYMENT & EDUCATION SERVICES

Program Mission

The mission of this program is to increase self sufficiency and develop strategies to ensure a better quality of life. Palmetto CAP offers supportive services to people who are currently working or in training that will lead to an increase in family income.

This is a program for individuals who may have barriers that jeopardize or hinder employment or education. This program provides resources and customized strategies to assist program participants to be successful in obtaining education, identifying careers, seeking employment, and maintaining their jobs.

Palmetto CAP utilizes a two-generation approach and provides character education and soft skills training to children, teens and young adults so that they will have the ability to enter the workforce as high-wage earners when the time comes.  Providing participants with more opportunities to increase their education and employment marketability will result in their families becoming more economically secure.

Services offered include:

  • Childcare (including before and after school care) for working parents
  • Work Support (uniforms, tools, and supplies including employment physical) for working clients
  • Transportation (CARTA bus tickets)
  • Tuition Assistance (training to advance marketing skills for employment, college, certification and license exams, and textbooks)
  • Summer Youth Works! (seasonal employment for college-bound high school juniors and seniors and students enrolled in accredited colleges)
